Every week, one of our Parish Team members will present a video update on what's happening at Christ the King. This week we are featuring Christina Sanchez, Director of Family Faith Formation to talk about the upcoming Lenten season.
Ash Wednesday
Feb. 17 is Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent. Masses with the distribution of ashes will occur this Wednesday at 6:30 a.m., 8:15 a.m., and 12:10 p.m. We also have an additional Mass at 6 p.m. in which we ask everyone to wear masks throughout the entirety of the liturgy.
Please remember that Ash Wednesday is a day of fasting for all people 59 years old and younger, and a day of abstaining from meat for all people 14 years and older.
Thursday Lenten Confessions
We will offer additional times for the Sacrament of Reconciliation from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. in the church on all of the Thursdays before Holy Week: Feb. 18 & 25; March 4, 11, 18 & 25. Please take ad-vantage of the gift of Jesus’ mercy at these special times.
Stations of the Cross
Walk with Jesus through the traditional Stations of the Cross on Fridays in Lent.

Unlocking the Mysteries of the Bible
The CTK Bible Study Group is conducting a class titled ‘Unlocking the Mysteries of the Bible’. The class is eight weeks in duration meeting at the Parish Center Monday evenings 7 to 8:30 PM February 15 through April 19. The structure of the class is DVD with a study guide ($25). Catholic Daughters Meeting
Catholic Daughters monthly meeting will be on Tuesday, February 16, in CTK Parish Hall. Prayer service starts at 6:30pm followed by the CDA meeting. Any questions, please contact Regent Marilyn Lowery at mlowery122153@gmail.com.
Knights of Columbus Fish Fry
The Knights of Columbus will be hosting a drive-thru only fish fry on Friday February 19th from 5 to 7 pm. Adults $10 and kids $5. Credit/Debit cards preferred due to Covid concerns.
Volunteer Opportunity
Creating a safe and hospitable environment for Christ The King parishioners at weekend Masses is a top priority. Ushers provide much help towards achieving this. Volunteers are needed at all weekend Mass times. High school youth in 11th or 12th grades, adult men or women are welcome to help. For more information about serving as an usher, contact Laura Rau at raul@ctkomaha.org or by calling the Rectory.
REAL GAP Fund
The "REAL GAP" fund helps the parish bridge the gap between the actual cost of educating students at Christ the King School and the income received through tuition. We are grateful for the generosity of many in the Christ the King community who continue to ensure we are able to provide a Catholic education for those desiring it. Currently, we have raised $104,876 out of a goal $390,000. Please prayerfully consider what you can do to help support the 2020-2021 “REAL GAP” Fund. Face Mask Requirement for Masses
We will continue to require face masks at our Saturday 5 p.m. Vigil Masses. We are asking all peoples who attend our Masses on Saturdays at 5 p.m. to wear masks throughout the entirety of the service. If you are afraid, have health concerns, or are working to keep our school open and Covid free, please consider attending Mass on Saturdays at 5 p.m. where everyone will be wearing masks.
